Some 42 economic entities, the joint-stock company Korma Center of Consumer Services, seven recycling centers and three individual entrepreneurs render paid and consumer services in the region.
The trade network features mainly consumer's co-operation companies: procurement centers, 62 retail trade companies with the trading area of 6577 square meters, 32 public catering outlets seating 1705 people, three auto shops servicing 33 settlements.
For the ten months of 2005 the retail turnover reached Br13370,6 million or 16,8 per cent more than in the same period of 2004 (the forecast for the year – 11 per cent). Goods worth of Br764 thousand were sold in the region per capita (28 per cent more against the same period last year).
The goods sold by the regional cooperative society account for 86.8 per cent of the total region’s trade turnover.
At present special attention is paid to development of trade and consumer services in rural areas. All personal household plots will be involved in the procurement activity. All rural stores will start taking orders from villagers; orders for foodstuffs will be executed in three days, for manufactured goods – in ten days.
